Step Back in Time
Our first stop was the fascinating farming museum, where we explored displays of vintage tractors, machinery and farming equipment. It's a wonderful glimpse into Devon's agricultural history and a great way to begin your visit.
Fun for All Ages
It wasn't long before our inner children came out! The giant wavy slide was impossible to resist and brought back so many happy childhood memories. There was lots of laughter as we raced down together, proving that you're never too old to have fun.
The outdoor play areas offer something for children of all ages, including trampolines, Harry the Harvester, climbing equipment and plenty of space to run around. We particularly appreciated that many of the play areas provide welcome shade, making them ideal even on warmer summer days.
A Trip on the Deer Train
One of our favourite experiences was climbing aboard the Deer Train and heading into the deer enclosure.
Armed with our pots of deer food, we were soon surrounded by friendly deer who clearly knew exactly what we had! There were lots of giggles as they eagerly reached over for their treats, making for a truly memorable family experience.
Animal Welfare Comes First
We had been looking forward to the Hawkridge Bird Display, but due to the high temperatures it had been postponed to ensure the welfare of the birds.
We really admired this decision. The staff explained everything clearly, and it was reassuring to see that the animals' wellbeing always comes first. We did get the opportunity to see the birds in their environment.
The Goats Stole the Show
Although there was so much to enjoy—including the pirate ship, soft play, ball pools and indoor play areas—the highlight of our day had to be meeting the goats.
We were able to go inside the enclosure and hand-feed them, which was such a lovely experience. They were full of character, incredibly friendly and certainly knew when food was on offer! It was one of those moments that had everyone smiling, from the youngest member of our family to the oldest.
