About Us – How It All Began!

People often ask how we found our way into the tourism world, and whether Alpine Park Cottages is our first venture. In truth, our story goes back several decades.

In 1979, Curtis’s parents and grandparents bought their first holiday park in Cornwall and moved from the Midlands to begin a new chapter. Curtis grew up helping around the park, developing both a love for the business and a hands-on understanding of what makes a great holiday experience. After completing his A Levels, he decided to join the family business full-time.

Growing Alpine Park Cottages

We celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2026—an incredible milestone. When we began, Alpine Park offered just six cottages; today, we proudly have 11 1 cottages to welcome guests into.  Our play area has also seen three evolutions as we continue improving the experience for younger visitors.

On a typical week, Curtis can be found outdoors keeping the grounds looking neat and tidy, while I’m in the office taking bookings and helping guests with their enquiries. Helen is now a secondary school teacher, but she still lends a hand during school holidays when needed!

Being open all year means summers are full of changeovers and grounds care, while winter becomes our time for deep maintenance. Every cottage receives a full spring clean—including washing all duvets and pillows—along with regular carpet and curtain cleaning. We also redecorate every two years. During the winter of 2025, we refurbished the bathrooms in our Premier 6-person cottages and upgraded the children’s play area.
