On Saturday 19th November 2022 sees the start of the Countdown to Christmas in Sidmouth, where the sparkling town's Christmas lights are turned on in the Market Square.  

Sidmouth's Christmas Late Night Shopping event takes place on Friday 2nd December listen to the wonderful La La Choir spread some Christmas cheer with festive songs. 

Connaught @ Christmas returns to Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth from 9th - 18th December 2022, where you will be able to see the clifftop gardens illuminated. Visit the Christmas Market and get those last minute stocking fillers.

Lower Otter Restoration Project

The Lower Otter Restoration Project (LORP) was a partnership initiative between landowners Clinton Devon Estates and the Environment Agency to restore the historic floodplain of the Otter estuary near Budleigh Salterton, East Devon. In 2021, the construction part of a 10-year project started on the Lower River Otter and was completed at the end of 2023. In January 2024 the Elizabeth Bridge was opened a 70 metre footbridge spanning the Estuary.
