We (myself, my wife, 11 year old son and 18 month pug Rosa) were looking for a place to stay just outside Exeter and found Alpine Park Cottages through Trip Advisor and read the excellent reviews received and so booked and stayed for a week last week. When you read reviews you're not exactly sure what you're actually going to find in reality but I can reassure you the place is exactly as all the very positive reviews have quoted. Owners Curtis and Sally obviously take to heart what they do and this is shown in the immaculate condition of the cottages, their friendliness and excellent knowledge of the area and suggestions of things to do. The cottage we stayed in was exceptionally equipped, very clean and great power shower. What we really loved about the place was the location, it is perfectly situated for using as a base to explore Devon and then after a hard day at the beach at Lyme Regis or walking around Sidmouth you come back to Alpine Park Cottages and it is so peaceful where you can chill out and catch your breath before your next day's adventure. There is also an excellent pub across the road where we went for a meal on our last night, with excellent customer service. All in all a great place to stay and exceptional value for money. Just don't play the crazy golf on site with your kids I ended up losing far too many times ;-).

My wife and I stayed for a week together with my daughter and her young family in adjoining cottages. We were made very welcome on our arrival, and were delighted to find some Easter Eggs provided for the grandchildren. While the weather was not at its best, there was plenty to do within local travel. The cottages were very clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped. The children enjoyed the play area and seeing the rabbits near our cottage. There is no camp shop, but there are food retailers within a short car ride and you can get groceries delivered. We plan to stay again in the future.

It can be tricky holidaying with dogs. We have stayed here twice and had a great time. But how’s this for professionalism? Midweek our dishwasher failed to work. We mentioned it, and when we got home found that not only had a new one been installed, but the crockery etc had been transferred to the new one and washed! In my view the proprietors here have found the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. I'm slightly nervous about recommending Alpine Cottages too highly because I want there to be a vacancy next time we want to stay.
